From Exotic Fever Records MySpace

hey folks,

just to let you know, we wont leave up fliers for unrelated shows on our comments page. thats street teaming and an aggressive and annoying way to abuse myspace in our opinion. this is about exotic fever artists, who we love, and their work. we will keep exf fliers up as they relate.

also, we do not book shows for out of town bands off this site. i get the feeling that myspace has really hindered people’s abilities to form genuine relationships where they are building scenes and artistic commuities in their own towns, attending shows, giving as much as they take. there is so much about show booking in my past that was about sharing and building that i miss. so please don’t write here for shows for your band. it will only serve to annoy us.

booking also usually requires a ton of work to make your band good and have people seek you out, put on shows that bring people, build things slowly. there is a lot to be said for local culture and organic growth.

that said - create. build.

love,

exf

“If I stop and think about it my life is pathetic, so generally I don’t stop and think about it. I’ve been in total denial. Which is why I buy trendy, figure hugging T-shirts. Because if I am going to deny the fact that I am old, I might as well deny the fact that I am fat as well.” —Richard Herring is 40. (Reblogged from shrinkwrapped)

“Getting a job and trading your time for money may seem like a good idea.  There’s only one problem with it.  It’s stupid!  It’s the stupidest way you can possibly generate income!  This is truly income for dummies.” —Steve ‘Pavlova’ Pavlina, 10 Reasons You Should Never Get a Job (Reblogged from eschaton.tumblr.com)
