Strangers in a strange land.
Before I moved to Finland, I felt as if Americans had a bad tendency of living up to a grossly disliked set of social skills. When I was still in the States, I had lunch with a family friend (who had moved to Finland a year prior) and she was so happy/surprised that strangers were talking to her. The periodic review of ideas makes it easier to remember them. This works better if you space the reviews over increasing time intervals, a “Spacing Effect” that was first identified by German psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus.
